New Moon in Scorpio + The Astrology of the moment

When faced with crisis, in moments of despair, when hope feels like a hopeless endeavour, and dreams erode into nightmares…do you run, do you hide, or do you face your fears.

On November 13th (9:27am GMT), during the New Moon at 20° Scorpio, you may well find out.

As the Moon comes into alignment with both the Sun and Mars, all in Scorpio, the call to come home to oneself will echo into the darkness. Asking, nay demanding, that you cease from fleeing in fear, nor hiding out in denial and finally develop the willingness to confront that which requires a witness.

Thus, during this lunation, can you surrender to the submersion, as you are pulled down into the deepest depths of yourself, in order to meet with suppressed memories of past painful experiences, the wounds that they inflicted, and the subsequent limited beliefs and conditioning that they resulted in.

As you shine a light on the darkest parts of your subconscious, it may become evident as to what patterns of behaviour have been keeping you entangled and as to whether there are aspects of your life you have come to feel impotent or powerless to change.

And whilst this may feel momentarily exposing or even destabilising - especially as Uranus in Taurus will be in opposition - trust that what arises during this time is what needs to emerge, as it offers you the opportunity to see what needs to change.

Which, ultimately, might just be you.

That being the case, are you prepared to acknowledge that certain notions you hold about yourself and life may actually have been influenced not only by external factors, but simply by fear itself. And as such, are you willing to challenge their validity.

Especially as with Saturn - which stationed direct at a critical 0° Pisces on November 4th - weighing in on this lunation, understand that it’s time to move away from victimisation, and out of survival mode, towards something more empowered, whereby you finally learn to embrace being the co-creator of your life.

Not only creating your reality, but equally, your perception of it.

Something which will require you to continually hold yourself accountable for the repercussions of your thoughts, words, and actions, or lack thereof, along with the acceptance of responsibility, in regards to your healing and growth, by making necessary changes when needed, both internally and externally.

If willingly accepted and embarked upon, a deep sense of freedom may emerge from the shadows of this lunation, as you finally release that which has been unconsciously keeping you stuck in repetitive cycles. Meaning that by April 23rd 2024, on the Full Moon at 4° Scorpio, when this cycle draws to a close, life may have taken on an entirely new trajectory.

Whilst this particular journey may occur on an individual level, it will additionally play out collectively on the world’s stage. The macrocosm reflecting the microcosm and vice versa.

Scorpio’s dense energy opposing that of Taurus, bringing issues of power and powerlessness, death and survival to the forefront. Yet amongst the chaos, Saturn in Pisces is calling for unity, for peace, for healing of the collective trauma.

The only question is, will it be heeded.

With Venus and Mercury having moved into Libra and Sagittarius respectively, one can only hope so.

In any case, the Sabian symbol for this lunation proves apt:

SOLDIER READY TO FACE CHARGES OF DESERTION FOR LOVE’S SAKE.
Conflict between old and new perspectives. A willingness to face chaos for the sake of a new order. Yielding to emotions.

As Pluto continues to be heavily activated in recent times - as it ekes its way through the latter degrees of Capricorn, before it transitions into Aquarius on January 21st 2024, initiating a total paradigm shift - the sight of the old guard clinging to power only becomes more prominent still.

Yet the sight on the horizon is a notable shift from external to internal governance.

Hence, when the North Node entered the sign of Aries, back on July 18th 2023, it was a call to arms, stipulating that the time had arrived to stand and fight; for truth; for freedom; for equality; for justice; for what you believe in.

It was the encouragement of a collective uprising, so as to oppose the oppressor and free the oppressed. Demanding the utilisation of whatever individual freedom and privilege one has, in order to advocate for others by amplifying the voices of those to whom a voice has been denied.

However, know that this transition of power will not occur overnight and will not be without heartache and bloodshed. So you may do well to prepare for the journey ahead.

Global temperatures will likely continue to rise, with collective tensions reaching boiling point, requiring you to develop a level of courage you never knew you had, as your sense of security and stability become threatened.

Whilst confronting and overwhelming, know that this is a point of collective and individual evolution. And thus, how you choose to show up in this moment, will count for everything when the Nodes shift onto the Pisces-Virgo axis, on January 11 2025, bringing the new landscape into focus.
