Pluto Retrograde + Lunar Eclipse/Full Moon in Scorpio
Back on March 23rd, Pluto transitioned from Capricorn into Aquarius, acting as an instigator of change and rebellion for the many years to come. Although this sudden shift was not merely for the sake of it, not disruption for disruption’s sake.
During its journey through Capricorn, which began back in 2008, Pluto sought evolution through governance, structure, and control.
Yet it soon became apparent that without equality and collectivism at the heart of them, masses suffered under the weight of the few that gained.
Thus, as Pluto entered into Aquarius, it was a call to action. Asking, nay demanding, that the imbalance of power be rectified, so as to support a society built on freedom and autonomy, rather than fear and oppression.
However, on May 1st, Pluto will station retrograde at 0° Aquarius, retracing its steps back through Capricorn, until it hits 27° on October 10th. In fact, Pluto won’t re-enter Aquarius until January 21st 2024, meaning that over the course of nearly nine months, you will be afforded the opportunity to reconsider how best to build anew, given your experience of the old.
Thus, can you utilise this time to get clear on how you want the next twenty years of your life to look and acknowledge what may need to shift or change, in order for that vision to manifest.
Bringing weight to this process will be the occurrence of a Penumbral Lunar Eclipse at 14° Scorpio on May 5th, followed by a Scorpio Full Moon minutes later (5:33pm BST).
As (Scorpio’s ruler) Pluto will be heavily influencing this lunation - via a t-square involving Mars in Cancer, Jupiter in Aries, and the North Node in Taurus - prepare for your deepest emotions to be stirred, bringing to the surface that which may make you feel exposed, raw or vulnerable.
Whilst challenging, know that this will be an opportunity to shine a light on that which has long been hidden in the dark, blocking your path forward in one way or another.
As the energy from this t-square will be directed towards the South Node in Scorpio, your willingness and ability to feel your feelings, even when they’re tender and sore, will help you move through them, empowering you to release attachment to the circumstances and people which caused them.
Ultimately freeing you to move on.
And it is this very sense of liberation which will be most prominent during this lunation, as a cycle, which began on October 25th - with the New Moon/Partial Solar Eclipse at 1°/2° Scorpio - comes to a point of completion. Asking you to consider as to what you may have freed yourself from since then.
However, with the Moon in opposition to the Sun - conjunct both Uranus and Mercury (stationed retrograde), all in Taurus - you might just find that more must be revealed, in order to fully lay the past to rest. If what emerges feels in any way unsettling, try to trust the process and know that things are happening for you, not to you.
Understand that you are not a powerless victim of circumstance, but the co-creator of your life and reality and as such, you must be willing to treat it all as an experience from which you can learn.
If that seems like a daunting thought, know that the Moon will be offering you support via trines to both Mars in Cancer and Saturn in Pisces, gently enabling you to develop a level of self-mastery and self-empowerment which might have previously eluded you.
Ultimately, what you’re willing to face, accept, and surrender during this lunation will serve as a catalyst for deep transformation, both within yourself and in life. Allowing you to release the past - and perhaps, the pain which resided there - and fully embrace the future.
