Mercury Retrograde in Taurus

Hot on the heels of the Solar Eclipse, as the intensity begins to dissipate into something vaguely more palatable, Mercury will station retrograde at 15° of Taurus, pulling focus on what may have arisen during the lunation.

Retracing its steps back to 5° - where it will station direct on May 15th - Mercury’s sojourn will be a call to pause for a moment in order to reflect.

In conjunction with Uranus for the entirety of its journey, the emphasis will be on your ability to look at things differently. Asking if you can be open to changing your perspective, especially in regards to matters of the heart, your personal sense of value, and your relationship to monetary and material issues.

Uranus may also serve to bring a sense of instability, whereby things suddenly don’t feel as solid or secure as they once did. Thus you may do well to expect the unexpected, but know that what shakes loose now is merely trying to teach you something about attachment and the importance of inner security, over external.

So, attempt not to grasp too tightly onto that which wishes to fall away.

In addition, with Pluto at 0° Aquarius, squaring the Lunar Nodes on the Taurus-Scorpio axis, some things will inevitably need to be surrendered, in order for the next chapter to occur. Yet it will be your willingness to cooperate, with grace and understanding, that will determine as to whether the process is smooth or turgid.

So choose well.

As the Sun will transition through Taurus during this period, the emphasis on independence and self-sufficiency will only be further highlighted. Hence your ability to get grounded and take responsibility for what needs to be done will be of key importance.

Especially as Mercury will no doubt only serve to highlight that which still requires work - whether within yourself, your relationships, or in regards to your greatest ambitions - so shirking or procrastinating will do you no favours.

And whilst you might come to find this moment of stillness feels a little sticky or dense at times, know that it is essentially offering you an opportunity to redefine and reassess, ensuring that you have complete clarity before taking action on any future plans.

Come May 15th, when the planet stations direct, Pluto will form an opposition to Taurus’ ruler, Venus, whilst Jupiter - having transitioned into Taurus - will be conjunct the North Node, highlighting the potential for complete and radical transformation, on the basis that you’ve utilised the period wisely.
