New Moon in Capricorn
When not processed, integrated, or healed, loss - in whatever form it takes - can be compounded by subsequent loss. Seeing grief compounding grief. Over and over again, until what started as a pinprick becomes something of a gaping wound, threatening to consume you.
Yet all wounds, no matter how deep they lie, are essentially a call for growth, offering the opportunity to transform through the act of healing.
And now, as the new year dawns, the sky is signalling for such a transmutation to occur - both personally and collectively - whether it’s wanted or not.
Coming into conjunction with the Sun at 20° Capricorn, on January 11th (11:57am GMT), the Moon will initiate a new cycle in the sign. One which will be imbued with amplified intensity, thanks to a Pluto conjunction and a square to Jupiter - the latter having recently stationed direct at 5° Taurus on December 31st 2023.
In its momentary repose in the shadows, the Moon - sextile Neptune in Pisces - will seek to dredge the depths of your subconscious, bringing thoughts and feelings crashing to the surface in somewhat seismic waves.
If you’ve felt the tension building for some time, this may just prove to be a pivotal moment. A breaking open that eventually leads to a much-needed breakthrough.
Trine to Uranus, things may feel more like they’re falling apart than coming together, yet the shifts that occur now do so because they’re required. They make clear what is solid and what is unstable. What is aligned and what needs adjusting. And what must change, in order for there to be true healing, growth, and evolution.
With Neptune heavily activated during this lunation, squaring Mars in Capricorn conjunct Mercury - recently stationed direct at 22° Sagittarius on January 1st 2024 - and Venus in Sagittarius, there will be a call to awaken. Asking that you connect to your spirituality.
Thus, can you make conscious the interconnectedness of all beings, by lifting the veil of separatism when it comes to matters of freedom and oppression, self-governance versus external and see that everyone, yourself included, has a right to exist. And to do so in peace and harmony.
And as such, can you treat others as you would treat yourself and yourself as you would do others.
Determining as to whether this is a period of transcendence - not just for you personally, but for humanity collectively - or merely another loop on the karmic wheel, will be the Lunar Nodes and Chiron, on the Aries-Libra axis. Caught in a tense t-square to this lunation, they stipulate the vital importance of choosing what you stand for, what you fight for, what you do, and ultimately, what you fail to do.
So know that what you heal within yourself, you ultimately heal within the collective. And what you free yourself from, you free everyone from.
Lokah Samastah Sukhino Bhavantu ~ May all beings everywhere be happy and free.
May this seven month journey towards the Full Moon in Capricorn, on July 21st, be a period of liberation from suffering for yourself and all beings.
