Full Moon in Cancer

As the Sun entered the sign of Capricorn on December 22nd, marking the Solstice - Winter in the Northern Hemisphere and Summer in the Southern - it was clear that one journey had reached a point of culmination, making way for another to begin.

Yet the inauguration of this new chapter will only truly occur days later on December 27th (12:32am GMT), when the Moon opposes the Sun at 4° Cancer, in a state of radiant fullness.

Bringing into focus all that requires acknowledgment, gratitude, integration, or release, this lunation will assist you in transitioning, not just from one moment to the next, but from one year to another.

In the process of doing so, it may invoke - with the tenderest of touches and the best of intention - a much needed release of some of your deepest held emotions, encouraging you to lighten your load and express that which has been sitting silently beneath the surface.

Thus, you may have to ask yourself if you’re ready to finally feel your feelings. And if not, perhaps it’s time to explore the reasons behind your resistance.

The Moon, at its most potent in its own sign, is set to teach you that ALL emotions are valid - not just the seemingly acceptable ones - and that they exist in order to serve as messengers. Therefore the lesson is not to ignore or deny certain emotions, in favour of other more palatable ones, but to learn to listen to them all, in the understanding and acceptance of what they have to say.

As you tune in, can you in the process come home to yourself, your body - the only real home you’ll ever have in this lifetime - noticing how it feels to be embodied. Asking if your form feels nourished and comforted, or is it lacking nutrients and care. Are you treating it with the respect it deserves, or have you ceased to consider it at all.

During this time, can you bring nurture back to the forefront. Caring for yourself in the way that you care for those you love. In the acknowledgement that you are worthy and deserving. Regardless of what you may otherwise have been taught, sacrificing yourself for others is not a sacred act.

In opposition to Mars conjunct Retrograde Mercury in Sagittarius and square to Neptune in Pisces, this lunation is calling you to come into alignment with yourself, through attunement of your spiritual and emotional body. Asking what needs refinement and what needs release. Where can you go deeper and where do you feel purposeful.

And what, ultimately, have the past twelve months taught you about yourself.

Upon reflection, can you have gratitude for all that has unfolded, in the acknowledgement that however challenging some experiences may have been, they always offered you the opportunity for growth.

Thus, with Retrograde Jupiter in Taurus and Pluto in Capricorn both heavily activated under this Moon, can you utilise this moment to release the attachment to what once was, or how you hoped it would be, and simply embrace how it actually is.

Shifting your perspective, in order to see that what may have felt like rejection, merely proved to be a redirection, pushing you to explore the great unknown. The Universe’s way of nudging you to adventure beyond your comfort zone. To expand your horizons. To find new ground.

And now, as you step into a new year, as you embark upon this new journey, may you move forward courageously and wholly, in light of all you have learnt.
