Full Moon in Aries

On October 9th, at 9:54pm BST, the Moon will reach a peak state of fullness at 16° Aries, bringing focus to particular issues which began to emerge back on April 1st, during the Aries New Moon at 11°.

The depths of what unfolds during this time may feel challenging, confrontational, or even destabilising, as Chiron in Aries will be making a conjunction, pushing and prodding at some of your deepest, most personal emotional wounds.

In opposition to both the Sun and Venus, conjunct in Libra, matters pertaining to love, partnership, your sense of security, and what you value are likely to be the most emotionally charged.

Additionally, with this lunation arriving on the tail end of Mercury’s three week retrograde - which began in Libra and ended in Virgo - there is something of an added sense of potency at play. What, if anything, arose for you during that time and has it shifted your outlook on matters? Do things look a little differently now?

Having stationed direct on October 2nd, Mercury is presently retracing its steps, slowly moving forward again through the latter degrees of Virgo, eventually finding itself back where it started at 8° Libra on October 17th. As it goes over old ground for what will be the third time, certain issues may reemerge, offering you the opportunity to deal with them differently, now that you potentially have new insight and perspective.

Ultimately, at the core of this, is the opportunity for you to acknowledge what has and has yet to be resolved within yourself.  What still requires work, integration, healing, and release. Do you have the willingness to be honest with yourself and accept the answers which arise. And further more, do you have the conviction to make the changes required to align with whatever the truth turns out to be.

Bringing weight to this challenge is a tense t-square to Pluto in Capricorn, highlighting the necessity to change, transform, restructure, and surrender that which does not serve you. Whether it be in the past or the present, a tangible structure or a limited belief, if it’s not moving you forward, it’s only holding you back. Therefore, you are called upon to develop the courage to let it go.

As Pluto’s energy gets directed back across to Capricorn’s opposing sign of Cancer, you may do well to expect a myriad of emotions to arise during this process, especially if they’ve previously been suppressed. Yet that which comes to the surface now, is requiring your willingness to witness it. Can you create space for an openness of feeling. Even if what you feel is uncomfortable, heavy, or sad.

Developing the aptitude to sit with discomfort, rather than denial, is essential work which has the potential to radically shift things forward, thanks in part to a trine to the Uranus-North Node conjunction. So, whilst you may feel confronted, as your values and sense of identity get challenged, you are essentially getting down to and connecting in with the core of who you are, not just what you perceive yourself to be.

Which, with another t-square active during this lunation, involving Jupiter conjunct Neptune opposing Mercury, with both squaring Mars in Gemini, getting clear on the truth of things has never been more vital. Thus you will have to question whether you can separate fact from fiction. Whether you can you be discerning when it comes to what is fantasy and what is reality.

Mars activated here might have you on the hunt for information and equally be encouraging of the subsequent expression of it, but understand that words can be weapons, so learn to use them well, especially during this time. It’s all too easy to get caught up in your own sense of reality and fail to recognise that your truth isn’t necessarily the truth.

As the energy of this t-square is channeled into Gemini’s opposing sign of Sagittarius, the key is to take on board a higher, bigger picture perspective. Understanding that there are a myriad of views - you only need be sure of your own.

At the heart of the matter though, which this Full Moon is ultimately asking, is whether you are honouring the truth of who you are?

Is everything you express, everything that you do, every choice that you make, motivated by and aligned with what you truly think, feel, need, and desire, or is it filtered, adjusted, or neglected out of fear, accommodation, or a sense of lack.

When you get to the root of the matter, when you get down to the core, can you break the chains of ancient conditioning and release that which keeps you bound to the past, bound in behaviours, situations, or relationships which don’t honour you.

Can you be radically honest with yourself about what you want and who you are.
