Nodal Change + New Moon in Aquarius

“You cannot discover new oceans unless you have the courage to lose sight of the shore.” - André Gide.

The astrological transits of 2025 and beyond are calling for an end to rigidity and comfort, so as to make space for faith and fluidity. Something which may feel truly liberating or deeply confronting, dependent entirely on how tightly you cling to the familiarity of what has been, in lieu of embracing the unknown of what is yet to come.

With the Lunar Nodes having shifted onto the Virgo-Pisces axis on January 11th, the lessons offered on the Aries-Libra journey suddenly came to an abrupt end, in the hope that you had finally learnt them.

As such, issues around power and powerlessness, self and other, conflict and equanimity, which have all been high on the agenda since July 2023, are now reaching a culmination point, asking that you find the middle ground and finally come into balance. Choosing healthy conflict over abject denial and avoidance. Authenticity over conformity. And courage over fear.

Now, as things begin to shift energetically, can you take what you’ve learnt over the past eighteen months and push it forward, as you develop a deeper understanding of the bigger picture at play.

(With the Nodes having last traversed the Virgo-Pisces axis from June 2006 until December 2007, you may wish to consider the energetic themes of that time, as anything unresolved is likely to permeate over the next eighteen months of its journey.)

With Pisces at the helm, the Universe is calling for you to surrender to the divine, by releasing the need for ego-centric control, in the faith that all will unfold as it is meant. However, if you’ve been stuck in doubt and insecurity for some time, then developing trust in a higher power may feel like an unfathomable task. And yet it is a necessary one, as you are being called to evolve your consciousness, so as to move away from the lack and limitations of the 3D reality into a higher, more expansive dimension.

One that supports the manifestation of your grandest visions, the healing of your deepest wounds, and your soul’s connection to the collective, via an intuitive understanding of unity consciousness (AKA God).

If your sense of security has always laid solely in the familiar material world, then this journey may just prove to be a rocky one, whereby feelings of loss, depression, abandonment, disillusionment, confusion, and directionless-ness pervade, and the temptation to numb or escape through various mediums may be strong.

The question is are you able to see a breakdown as an opportunity to break-through. Can you willingly let go - of the need to know and the need to control - and sit in the emptiness, trusting that anything you don’t have or don’t know, you don’t presently need.

If so, then this could prove to be a time of deep healing, whereby you choose to accept the loss of that which is no longer - whether it be relationships, jobs, homes, familiarity, material security, certainty, illusions etc - in the understanding that this aspect of your karmic journey is complete and space is merely being created so that you can invite into your life new people, perspectives, energies, and opportunities which are more spiritually aligned, compassionate, authentic, expansive, and ultimately supportive of your growth and evolution.

Nonetheless, as this is as much a collective journey as a personal one, this will be a period of evolution for society as much as it is for yourself. Therefore you may come to see more of an openness and demand for spiritual modalities and holistic medicine, as spirit calls to connect back to the truth of its inherent wisdom.

In addition, the Earth may wish to energetically cleanse itself through floods, storms, and the mass exodus of many incarnates. Something which may challenge the beliefs of many who attach solely to the physical form. As such, religious ideology and spirituality may clash, forcing people to consider what it is they truly believe.

Therefore, this journey may just prove to be a pivotal turning point, as you are forced to consider as to whether you have been operating with faith or with fear. Going with the flow or struggling against the tide. Trapped in dogma and delusion, or connected and clear.

By the Spring of 2026, when the Lunar Nodes shift onto the Leo-Aquarius axis, what you have awoken to will be evident and crucial.

If the time ahead suddenly seems rather daunting, then the New Moon at 9º Aquarius, occurring on January 29th 2025 (12:35pm GMT), may just serve to offer some support, as with a conjunction to the Sun, Mercury and Pluto, all in the same sign, the energy is ripe for transformation.

Here the Universe is asking you to radically rethink the way that you look at life. Thus, can you utilise this time to deconstruct the programming you have internalised from the past, in order to garner a clearer understanding of who you truly are in the present.

In the process, you may be required to challenge certain social constructs of which you have been conditioned to adhere to, so as to offer yourself the opportunity to determine for yourself what is the ‘norm’.

In this exploration of the truth - your truth - you may discover that you have, at some point or another, lost, or even willingly sacrificed, your autonomy and individuality in order to fit into - what you perceive to be - the safety and security of the collective. In whatever form that takes.

However, with a trine to the Moon’s ruler Uranus (situated in Taurus and set to station direct the following day), along with a sextile to the North Node conjunct Neptune, Venus, and Saturn, all in Pisces, the call to awaken the Self is unmistakable.

Yet it doesn’t come without its challenges. Especially if you’ve felt of late that the dream has been better than the reality. Thus, it’s time to let go of fruitless illusions and start building on tangible truths.

As such, can you shake away the shackles and begin implementing the changes which you know are required in order to move you closer to where and who you actually want to be in life.

Closer towards the sovereign Self.

With retrograde Mars, now in Cancer, making a trine to the North Node conjunction, expect your most sensitive parts to be poked and prodded during this time, as you are actively encouraged to heal your wounds and release your emotional blockages. The ones which have kept you stuck and stagnant, playing small in the belief that you are in some way unsafe, unworthy, incapable, or unloveable.

This lunation wants you to finally recognise and acknowledge your divinity. Your part in the whole. And the importance of the role that you play in the collective evolutionary journey when you show up as your Self.

With this in mind, retrograde Jupiter’s square to the North Node conjunction will intensify the pressure to expand, meaning that fear based procrastination is no longer an option, it’s finally time to take considered action, make long-term commitments, and generally get things done. Especially anything that’s been lingering for some time.

As things will likely begin moving rather rapidly when Jupiter stations direct at 11º on February 4th, utilising this period to get things in order may just save you the experience of chaos and overwhelm at a later date.

So expect to be activated under this New Moon, as you are pushed to shed the layers of conformity and fear, in order to bring your original, individual brilliance to the world. Something which will be on full display by the Aquarius Full Moon on August 9th.
