Mercury Retrograde, New Moon in Sagittarius + Mars Retrograde
What does it mean to truly believe…well, you might be about to find out, as the Universe takes a journey through the sign of the centaur over the coming weeks and months ahead.
Beginning on November 26th 2024, when Mercury stationed retrograde at 22º Sagittarius, pushing you to pull focus on the bigger picture, asking, what do you believe is possible when it comes to the scope of your life.
As it continues to transit back through the sign - until it stations direct at 6º on December 15th - can you re-examine your life, challenging any limiting beliefs you presently hold around it, whilst re-affirming what it is you really want out of it.
In the process, the Universe will support you by way of insights and information, likely in the form of past issues re-emerging, old patterns returning, or hidden information coming to light. Asking if you’re able to deal with things differently, now that you have more experience and a new perspective.
In addition, anything that’s been left unresolved may come back for completion, forcing you to finally face that which you’ve been avoiding. As such, you may find that you need to re-visit certain projects or ideas, so as to gain clarity on what exactly is required of you in order for them to work. Or you may find that life is asking you to discern as to whether you wish to adjust, scrap, or re-commit to previously made plans.
Or you may find that relational dynamics are suddenly forced into review, asking that you consider as to who is really aligned for you, in this current season of your being. Are there particular relationships which have served to support you through chapters of your life which have now come to an end. And if so, are you willing to surrender them, for the highest good of all, in order to begin anew.
However, as Mercury governs communication, conversations held during this time may prove to be combustable, as historical issues are brought to the surface - intentionally or otherwise - dragging buried emotions along with them. So, you may do well to speak with care and be prepared when attempting to engage with others, especially when attempting to broker peace.
Overall, this retrograde period is a time best spent reflecting on matters and gaining clarification (particularly in the area it affects in your chart) before choosing to take action.
In the midst of chaos however, there will be a New Moon at 9º Sagittarius, occurring on December 1st (6:21am GMT), which asks that you take aim towards the most expansive life you can imagine and believe that you have the capacity to get there.
In opposition to ruling planet Jupiter, situated in Gemini, the sky is asking that you learn to move out of your own way, when it comes to your life’s dreams and ambitions, in order to finally have the courage to go after what you want. Something which may challenge you if you’ve been playing small of late, due to fears of failure, rejection, or not feeling capable or worthy.
Consequently, this lunation is set to call your concerns into question, so as to determine which are founded in fact and which are complete works of fiction.
Upon clarification, a square to Saturn in Pisces will further ask that you do the work required to heal the wound within, the one that keeps you contained in a cage of your own making. Thus, can you utilise this time to liberate yourself from outdated narratives that don’t serve you and give yourself permission to dream of a life far more fantastical than the one you are presently accepting.
Supporting you in the process will be Venus in Capricorn conjunct Pluto in Aquarius, making a trine to Uranus in Taurus, exclaiming that anything, literally anything, is possible, if you only believe! Thus, this could prove to be a time of sudden, radical change, whereby things completely shift overnight.
Requiring you to define for yourself what it is that you want, whilst being flexible with what you get, as retrograde Mercury opposes Jupiter and squares the Aries North Node, along with Neptune Rx in Pisces, highlighting that it’s ultimately always what you need.
Yet, merely days after the New Moon, on December 6th, Mars stations retrograde at 6º Leo, pulling up the handbrake and asking for a little patience, as it slows down your movement to a more manageable pace. Asking that you focus on the intentions behind the actions.
Here you’re being asked to reconsider your motivations when it comes to certain endeavours. Asking if they’re fuelled by your head or your heart. Your wounds or your worth. Are you truly expressing and embodying your most authentic self with those around you, or have you, perhaps without even realising, created a version of yourself that you present to the world, so as to gain acceptance and validation.
An applause that likely echoes in the hollowness of its existence.
Hence, you are being asked to come into alignment with the truth of who you are, by shedding the falsities and willingly showing up in all your vulnerable realness. In the understanding that the only person who needs to accept you is yourself and the only real success, is the fulfilment of your most genuine desires.
After transiting back through the early degrees of Leo, Mars will eventually reacquaint itself with Cancer, before it stations direct in the sign at 17º on February 24th 2025, during which time things may become more emotionally sensitive, as you’re asked to deal with any feelings you’ve been suppressing of late.
Therefore, can you utilise this period to process, by willingly sitting in the discomfort of what arises, so as to let it be released. Can you give yourself permission to momentarily fall apart, before putting yourself back together again in a more secure way. Can you have compassion for the scope of your experience, so as to nurture yourself through it without judgement.
If so, then this retrograde period may prove to be one of healing and integration, whereby you re-affirm what it is that you want and where it is that you’re going. And perhaps, what it will take for you to get there.
Trust that by June 11th 2025, at the Full Moon at 20º Sagittarius, life will either have expanded or contracted depending on how willing you were to believe in its ability to do so.
