New Moon in Pisces + Venus Retrograde
When diving into the depths of your subconscious, what emerges…Hope or hopelessness. Dreams or delusions. Faith or fear. Clarity or confusion.
If you find yourself lacking in the willingness to find out, then the New Moon at 9º Pisces, occurring on February 28th 2025 (12:44am GMT), might feel like something of a tumultuous and unexpected submersion into the abyss.
Yet with the Moon conjunct the Sun squaring Jupiter in Gemini, it’s time to expand your consciousness by getting clear on the unconscious drives behind your thoughts, beliefs, and behaviour.
Thus can you utilise this lunation as an opportunity to cleanse the soul, clearing away the detritus taking up space within your heart and mind, alleviating you from the burden of storing past emotional baggage which has simply been getting in the way.
In this process of purging, you may be called to go back over old ground, so as to relive the experiences that have shaped who you have since become, reconnecting with the pain and grief associated, in order to remember key aspects long forgotten.
It is said that sometimes, in order to heal it, you first have to be willing to feel it and this lunation may just ask you to feel a lot.
Yet with Pluto in Aquarius and Uranus in Taurus both positively aspecting Saturn conjunct Mercury, the North Node, and Neptune, all in Pisces, it’s time to liberate yourself from the past, so as to focus on the future. So the only question is, are you prepared to fully break open if it means finally breaking away.
If so, then aspecting Mars in Cancer may just induce something of an emotional outpouring that allows you to release that which has until now either been suppressed or repressed, as a form of avoidance or survival.
An immersive experience which may feel like a somewhat sink or swim situation.
However, with Mars making an additional square to Chiron and Venus, both in Aries, this tidal wave has the potential to act as a healing crisis, forcing you to confront the wounds to self. Asking if you can clarify what hurts and what you require to soothe the pain. Can you define what you want and who you want it from. And ultimately, do you have the courage to be vulnerable, when it comes to expressing your truth to those that need to hear it.
Especially as conversations held now could radically transform relationships, opening them up to a new level of connection, akin to soul bonding.
In fact, with Venus stationing retrograde at 10º Aries, merely days after the New Moon, on March 2nd, you may well find yourself deeply re-evaluating your relationships over the coming weeks ahead, as you consider what it is you truly value and ultimately, who is really valuing you.
Thus, during this time, as Venus retraces its steps back through the early degrees of Aries into the latter degrees of Pisces, until it reaches 24º of the sign on April 13th, you will be called to connect in with your emotional desires and consider as to whether your present partnerships are actually fulfilling them.
Asking, is it pleasure or pain that arises when you collide.
If you find it’s been more of the latter of late, then this retrograde period may just serve to bring issues to a head, asking that you readdress the balance, either through adjustment or disconnection.
Something which may leave you feeling satiated or sour, depending on the transpiring disparity that emerges between your hopeful optimism and the hurtful truth.
However, as Venus will eventually move into a conjunction with Saturn, you can at least be assured that what’s left standing in the aftermath of this period will be there for the long-haul. Meaning you can move forward with a deeper state of clarity and confidence, knowing that what you commit to will commit to you.
